Ill note to that the fish doesnt fight the sting of the hook, it fights the pull of the rod. The harder you pull the harder the fish pulls to resist. Large fish can be landed quite quickly by pulling the opposite way the fish is heading and a jumping fish should have a low rod with slack line.

I broke 5 flyrods this year by bending them to mutch teaching people on grass getting them snagged in bushes! I also fish a 50$ Cortland and have landed 20+ inch browns and bows. I spraypainted it olive green and Its a great bushwacker. If it breaks who cares and it works great. Take michael Jordans Nike Airs away from him and he can still play basketball… Dont jerk it to hard kid, you could go blind lol.

lol yeah REALLY!! was he fishing with his dad or HIS BOSS??lol Andrew was probably so nervous between the sweet fish and his dad’s pissin n moanin,he couldn’t work with the fish. Next time tell dad to bring his own rod n catch his own fish, his own way!
I kinda” disagree w/ joescout, no offense-that’s not a good way to teach or for someone to learn! lol Dad’ll be wondering why Andrew always want’s to take HIMSELF fishing! My dad was so cool to fish with! I miss em” so much!

Weird… When I lived in Hamburg(2004) no one use to fish on the left side of the bridge do to it being deep as hell… I usually fish would fish on the right line near the trees and stuff. A lot of good memories from Cat and 18 mile. One thing by the way… When did 18 get Salmon Runs…? I only remember fishing for Browns,Steels, and Rainbows. (Occasional Carp during Summer)

I can’t recommend it highly enough. It gets great runs of Salmon, Steelhead and huge browns. It’s easy to wade and fish all day.
