I have frozen cod fillets, fresh prawns that need using up, would wish for smoked haddock or some salmon, but that’s it. I have tomatoes, fresh and tinned, loads of uncooked spuds, red and white onions, and some mild cheese, No cornflour, some milk. Whaddya think folks?

Salmon and Potato Pie — I would add ALL the seafood ya got!!!
INGREDIENTS
6 potatoes, peeled
1 small onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon butter
1 (6 ounce) can red salmon, undrained
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 cup milk
2 (9 inch) unbaked pie shells
1 to taste salt and pepper
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm, about 15 minutes. Drain, cool and chop.
In a medium saucepan, cook onions, garlic and butter over medium heat until vegetables become transparent in color.
Add onion/garlic mixture, salmon and thyme to cooked potatoes. Mash all together with milk, adding just enough to bring about a mashed potato consistency. Spread evenly into pie shell.
Place second pie shell over top of salmon mixture. Cut slits into the upper shell, then pinch edges of both pie shells together. Bake on lower rack of oven for 45 minutes.

I’m going to assume you are vegetarian or vegan, I am vegetarian and in highschool too, so I understand I’m still growing and developing, I am constantly told I need to pop a bunch of multivitamins, honestly, I’ve tried it, it’s unnecessary and left me feeling sick, I used to have a bunch of problems with getting enough iron, I have tried every pill on the market, (in australia) basically, what I have found, is that a protein shake half an hour before a work out and eating mushrooms and beetroot is really all I need. I could give you the names of expensive vitamins that contain basically every nutrient but they will most likely make you sick because your body wont be used to getting so many vitamins and minerals at once, some brands actually made me throw up because of this… Go to a health food store, explain your question to them and buy which ever protein shake they recommend for you, they aren’t very expensive, then try and up your intake of mushroom and beetroot, maybe even try a product called QUARM, or QUORM (sorry i cant remember the spelling ) and you will be right (: you dont need ANY other supplements, and you would probably find most would just make you sick, if you are still worried go to your doctor, i did when i went vegetarian, they have a lot of really useful facts

Assuming the edge of the storm hasn’t reached your area (that is, higher surf and wind) and other conditions are good, the fishing may be fine. If the other conditions are off (water temp, tides, etc.), then don’t expect much.
I’ve done well at times the day before a storm — some old-timer once told me on one of those days that the fish knew a storm was coming, and wanted to feed to fill up to sustain themselves before hiding under a rock for a few days until things cleared up after the storm.

I tied a cvs one time use pure digital camera to a bunch of helium balloon, attached it to some fishing line, and sent it up as high as I could (which turned out to be about 1000 feet).

speed of delivery.a truck can go directly from point a to point b.in a couple of days any where in the country. a train must wait for a truck from point a to come and be loaded and then cross country in same aount of time then be unloaded and a truck takes to point b.only pro about a train is the amount of stuff it can carry at once.

I really want to start eating more salmon (as I’ve been reading about its health benefits), but the only way I like to eat it is smoked (and that’s not the IDEAL way to eat it in terms of health, apparently) – so what is a good salmon recipe that is with *fresh* salmon, *not smoked* for someone who doesn’t really like the taste of fish?

I like to season my salmon with garlic powder, very little chili powder, salt and pepper, seasoning both sides, and then broil in the oven for about 15 min. You’ll know it’s done when it starts to flake apart. If you like onion, you can try onion flakes as a seasoning too. Experiment with different seasonings, make it fun!

www.SmokingPit.com – This Salmon recipe is for folks who like it spicy! Atlantic Salmon filets seasoned and cold smoked for 1 1 hours with Pecan & Cherry. Then smoked @ 225 for approximately 2 hours until the Salmon is light pink in color, firm but moist! During the last 30 minutes the Salmon is mopped with a spicy Chipotle Lime sauce.
