This has to be one of the most efficient fishing techniques around for catching fish for the table. The surf casting catch includes snapper, red cod, kahawai, gurnard and sharks.

Question by Irish Eyes: Does anyone have any tips for fishing Lake Mead?
I’ll be there for 1 day: Monday 3/19/07 from 8AM – 12PM.
I’ll be renting a 17′ boat with a 40hp 2-stroke outboard. The boat will be rented from Lake Mead Marina.
I would like to fish for stripers and/or largemouth bass. I would like information on the spots that I can easily get to from Lake Mead Marina and how to fish them for stripers and largemouths. Thanks for your input.

I wanted to go deep sea fishing in the Daytona beach area for a good price. I’m taking a few kids and we just wanted to have some fun without paying a lot. I looked up some charters online but most are asking for $ 100+ and go for the full day. I’m just looking for something for half of the day and has a price that’s less than $ 100

I don’t think you will find a charter for $ 100. When you think about it, they are providing the boat, bait, guide, equipment, insurance, and lots more for a nice day or half day of great fishing. It seems like a reasonable price to pay. Rainbow Charters is a family owned six passengers or less sport fishing charter booking business. Question by Holly: Unique teen experiences for florida in the winter?
I’m about to go to Florida for February break. I’m really excited, and going with my dad and possibly my brother, 14. I’m 16 and love to try different and crazy experiences. I’ll do almost anything, I’m looking into zip lining over alligators. I am going to be in Daytona for the Daytona 500 and seeing the shuttle launch but will be venturing south. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Obviously cheaper would be preferred, but if it’s worth it, it’s fine.

Expensive and awesome = SeaWorld Discovery Cove. Swimming with dolphins, enough said, right? It’s $ 275 apiece but it includes tickets to SeaWorld too. Cons, crazy expensive and only about 15 minutes actually in the water with dolphins and half of that time is watching other people get their pictures taken with the dolphin in your group.
Cheap and cool = Wekiva Springs State Park (pronounced “wuh – kai – vuh”). Might be a little cold for swimming in the crystal clear (and freezing) freshwater spring but you could still rent a canoe to take down the river – you’ll see lots of birds, turtles, fish, plenty of gators and maybe a few river otters. You think zip lining 40′ over gators sounds crazy? How about being 10′ away at eye level . . . in the water in your canoe!

First up a 1.33mtr jewfish (40lbs) followed by an absolute beast that comes in at 1.42mts or approx 60lbs. The boys do specialist charters for these enigmatic fish but they never expect what goes down on this day. Please note the State bag limit of this species is 10 per person per day. The only shop in the area. There used to be a very good fish and chip shop next door where the fish was freshly caught from the river and the chips were fried in dripping. That’s gone now
Question by duckblindiva: Can I bake catfish with fish Fry mix and it turn out okay?
I have Zatarain’s fish fry mix and some catfish fillets. Can I bake the fish with the coating and it turn out right, or does it have to be fried? I am trying to do it just a little healthier. Anyone have any suggestions for oven temp or have any other tips for me?

TIP: If you use a whole Night crawler, it scares the fish but if you use half of the softer part, it attracts them in a major way. Try it yourself as some people have more luck hooking using Night crawlers than flies or Roe Bags.

Question by Jess: How can you tell the diffrance between male and female Oscar fish?
My mom has these two Oscar fish but we can’t tell if they are male or female. I searched in a search engine but lots of things came up. If they are male and female we want them to have babies, so any tips on the conditions to help them breed are appreciated. Also, any information on how Oscars’ care for their babies or how we care for them will be appreciated.

You cannot tell visually. Oscars are a monomorphic species, and short of venting them or watching them go through a test of power, you can’t tell

Question by Michael: What is the Statutes of Limitations in Florida for credit card debt?
I have a debt that’s over ten years old and a collection company threatening to sue. I think they’re fishing. The last payment was made around the year 2000 through a credit consolidation company. Nothing since. I didn’t agree to pay them anything, I didn’t say that I owe the amount they claim but I also didn’t deny it.
Is this something I should worry about?

Ogeechee Outdoors Float Fishing the Ocean Part 2

Here is the second part of the float fishing off the rocks video. This is more fishing than setting up as the first part was. There are some tips and tricks still inthis video to help you fish. Even though we filmed this at the ocean in souther California it still applies to bream, panfish, and other float fishing endeavors you may undertake. Adjust your float size, hook size, and bait to match your quarry. ALWAYS BE AWARE OF THE OCEAN!!! Dont turn your back onthe ocean or get unattentive. Occasionally a large wave will come. A guy was fishing next to me tin a lounge chair and wasnt paying attection. The water at the bottom washed back very far and I told him “BIG ONE COMING” and let the bail loose and ran backward. He sat there as the wave washed over. He lost all his tackle, his chair, and was soaked. If you fish near the rocks put your gear back behind you in a safe manner that it will not get washed away if a big wave comes. Use care. Several people have drowned in this area that I am fishing.
Question by mazey1967: I have a great recipes for batter dipped fish, but every time I try to make it, the batter comes off?
I use my deep fryer. Can anyone give me any tips on what I’m doing wrong, or a recipe for batter dipped fish that will stay on? My husband is an avid fisherman and we have alot of fish, but the only way the kids will eat it is battered. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I use Drakes. Make sure the fish is dry before you batter it.
“Float” it in the oil, holding it just by the edge of your fingertips as close tot he oil as you can for a few seconds before you release it.

I work at a fish fry restaurant now and its really un organized. I work every Friday from 4 to 11 and i am only tipped anywhere from 12 to 18 dollars a night. I work my butt off all night and the tips are horrible. What restaurant can i make better tips at! any help is appreciated thanks!

Well, I don’t know about your place but most bussers earn tips by being ‘tipped out’ by the waiters they are helping out.
So if the waiter makes a $ 20 tip of a table and tip out is 10% you would get $ 2.
Some big corporations like TGI’s or Olive Garden will usually set a a tip out amount, so ask your floor manager if there is one.
If you work for a small mom and pop type restaurant maybe ask the waiter how much they are tipping you.
Basically when working as a busser you a relying on your waiter to bring in the tips, and the sort of establishment you work at will affect your tips too.
Try getting promoted to a waiter or a bussing gig at a corp.
